Your monthly cooking recap

The recap turns your cooking log into a one-page summary of a month: how many meals you cooked, your longest streak, your most-cooked dish and what you saved against takeout. You can share it as a card, and it works on every plan.

Open your recap#

On any recipe page, press See your monthly cooking recap under the cooking log. It opens this month’s recap and is there all month long.

Two other ways lead to the same page. Type recipeclip.app/recap in your browser (sign in first if it asks). Or press View recap on the Your recap is ready card at the top of the Recipes page, which opens last month’s recap. That card shows only on days 1 to 7 of a month, only if last month had a full recap, and only until you hide it with its ×. It comes back next month.

What each tile means#

A recap counts the cooks in your log dated in that month: entries from Log a cook or Rate this recipe, dinners you finished in cook mode, and recipes you logged in the nutrition diary. The date is the day you picked. Recipes in Trash are left out.

TileWhat it counts
Meals cookedEvery entry in the month. Cooking the same dish twice counts twice.
Days — longest streak this monthThe longest run of days in a row with at least one cook. A run that began the month before can count its earlier days, and the tile then says incl. days carried over from August.
new and cooked againRecipes you cooked this month. New means you had never logged it in an earlier month; cooked again means you had.
The most-cooked dish, such as Cooked 4x — most this monthThe recipe you cooked most often. If several tie, it shows just one of them, such as Cooked 1x.
Busiest cooking dayThe weekday with the most cooks, such as Monday, not a date.
Top tagThe tag that came up most on the recipes you cooked. It appears only when those recipes have tags.

One dinner can count twice

Finishing a recipe in cook mode adds a cook, and logging the same meal in the nutrition diary adds another one, so Meals cooked and the savings estimate both go up by one extra. Delete the extra entry from the recipe’s cooking log to correct the count. See Log what you cooked and Log what you eat.

You need 3 cooks

With fewer cooks than that in a month you see Nothing logged yet this month or 2 cooks logged so far instead of the tiles, and the Share section is hidden. Log one more and both appear.

How the savings estimate works#

The green line is a guess at what you saved against takeout, not a receipt: each cook counts the recipe’s servings up to 4 (4 if it does not say), at $12 a serving, so 3 cooks of a 4-serving dish give $144.

Look at another month#

  1. 1

Press the month box under the page title (at the top right on a computer), or the ‹ and › arrows

The box lists the last 12 months in which you logged a cook, so choose September 2026 to see September. ‹ goes back one month at a time, even into a month with no cooks. › stops at the current month. You can also type the month in the address: recipeclip.app/recap/2026-09.

You'll see: The page reloads for that month.

Share your recap card with a link#

A share card is a public link to your counts, your streak and your savings. Anyone with the share link can open it, with no account. Nothing is shared until you press the button, and the Share this recap section shows only for a month with a full recap.

  1. 1

Scroll to Share this recap and press Share my recap

If it fails you see Couldn’t create a share link. Try again. Wait a moment and press the button again.

You'll see: A message says Your recap is now shareable, and a row with your new link and four buttons replaces the button.

  2. 2

Pick what to do with the link

Your link reads recipeclip.app/recap/s/ followed by a code.
    1. Copy puts the link on your clipboard, ready to paste into a message.
    2. View opens the card in a new tab, the way your friends see it.
    3. Download image saves the card as a picture (a PNG file) you can post anywhere.
    4. Revoke turns the link off. See Update the card or stop sharing.

You'll see: Use Copy to send it, or Download image to post it.

What your friends see#

The shared page opens with a headline, then the tiles, as in the picture. Below them come the savings line and the Get your own recap and Download image buttons. It has no most-cooked tile, because that dish is named in the headline instead. Search engines are told not to list it.

  • A dish name or tag appears only if that recipe is public when you share. If your most-cooked dish is private, the headline reads A month of home cooking instead.
  • The card is frozen at the moment you press the button. Cooks you log afterwards do not change it.

Update the card or stop sharing#

While a link is live, Share my recap is hidden. Press Revoke (button 4 in the picture above) and a message says Share link revoked. Anyone who opens the old link now sees This recap link isn’t available, though pictures already downloaded or posted stay where they are.

To refresh the card with newer cooks, press Share my recap again after revoking. You get a new link with up-to-date numbers, and the old link stays dead.

Common questions#

Move it instead of deleting it, so its rating, note and photos stay. The recap follows the new date. The steps for a phone and a computer are in Log what you cooked.

The recap shows an error message.#

Couldn’t load this recap. Try again. means press Retry under it, or reload the page. Couldn’t copy. Long-press the link to copy it. means your browser blocked the clipboard, so press and hold the link in the row to copy it. Couldn’t revoke the link.
