2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Your email address and display name when you register.
• Recipe data: Recipes you save, including titles, ingredients, instructions, photos, and URLs.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns to help us improve the product.
• Payment information: Billing details are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card or payment details.
• Device & technical data: IP address, browser type, and device identifiers for security and analytics purposes.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the RecipeClip service.
• Authenticate your identity and keep your account secure.
• Process payments and manage your subscription.
• Extract and organize recipe data via AI processing (photos and URLs you submit).
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts).
• Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve product features.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Cookies

5. Third-Party Services

RecipeClip uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Supabase — Database and authentication provider. Your recipe data and account information are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Data is protected with row-level security policies.
• Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all billing and subscription management. We do not store payment card data. Stripe's privacy policy governs data they collect.
• Google Gemini AI — AI-powered recipe extraction. When you upload a photo or submit a URL, the content is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Only recipe content is sent — not your personal information. Google's API data usage policy applies.
• Vercel Analytics — Hosting and web analytics. Vercel may collect anonymized traffic data. No personally identifiable information is included.
• Google Analytics — Usage analytics to understand feature adoption and improve the product. Data is anonymized and aggregated.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and recipes are permanently deleted within 30 days. Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting requirements. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability: Export your recipe data in a portable format.
• Opt-out of sale: We do not sell personal data (CCPA).
• Withdraw consent: Opt out of non-essential data processing at any time.
