What shows up#
- Every meal on your plan, for about two weeks back and eight weeks ahead. If you are in a household, the family plan is included.
- Each meal is titled with the slot and the recipe, such as
Dinner: Easy Pesto Pasta
. The description holds a link to the recipe. - Meals land at set times: breakfast 8:00 AM, lunch 12:30 PM and dinner 6:30 PM. If your plan has other meal slots from an older version of the app, such as a snack, they appear at times in between. Each meal lasts 45 minutes.
- Recipes you have deleted are left out.
It goes one way, and it is read-only
A subscribed calendar is read-only in Google, Apple and Outlook, so you can’t move or edit a meal there. Move meals on the Plan page, and the change reaches your calendar app the next time it refreshes. The window in RecipeClip says the same: your calendar app keeps the link read-only, so move a meal on the Plan page.Make a new link or turn it off#
Open Subscribe in your calendar again. The link is still there to copy.
- 1
To replace the link, press Regenerate, then Regenerate anyway
Use this if the link got shared by mistake. Add the new link to each calendar app. The old calendar freezes at its last copy, so remove it from your calendar app, or every meal shows twice. You'll see: You get a new link. The old one stops working everywhere.
- 2
To stop, press Turn off, then the red Turn off next to No
Press No instead to keep the link. After you turn it off, the calendar you added it to freezes at its last copy. Remove it from your calendar app. You'll see: The window goes back to
Not subscribed yet.
Common questions#
Why hasn’t my change shown up? Calendar apps check the link on their own schedule, not when you press a button. Google can take many hours. Microsoft says Outlook.com checks approximately every 3 hours and Outlook on the web with a work or school account approximately every 6 hours, and an update can take more than 24 hours. On a Mac, set the calendar’s Auto-refresh in its Get Info window (see the Apple tab above). RecipeClip updates the link within about five minutes, so the wait is in your calendar app. Nothing is wrong.
Can I change the meal times? No. Meals land at the times above, and a subscribed calendar is read-only. To move a meal to another day, move it on the Plan page.
Can I show only dinners? No. The link carries every slot on your plan.
Want to send the plan to someone who isn’t you? Use Share your meal plan, which makes a page they can open. The calendar link is for your own calendars.
Where do I plan the meals? See Plan your meals.
