Delete Your Account

Last updated: September 14, 2026

RecipeClip.app is developed and operated by Mapleframe Labs. Website: https://recipeclip.app. Contact: support@recipeclip.app

This page explains how to request deletion of your RecipeClip.app account and data, whether or not you still have the app installed, and exactly what deleting your account does and does not remove.

How to delete your account

Option 1 — If you can sign in to RecipeClip.app

  1. Sign in at recipeclip.app (or in the app) and open the account menu in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Security & data section and find Danger zone.
  4. Click Delete my account.
  5. Type DELETE in the confirmation box, then click Permanently delete.

This deletes your account immediately — there is no waiting period for the self-service path. If you have an active paid subscription, we cancel it with Stripe first; if for any reason we can’t confirm the cancellation, we stop and do not delete your account rather than risk leaving you billed for an account that no longer exists. In that case you’ll see an error asking you to contact us.

Option 2 — If you can’t sign in, or no longer have the app

You do not need to reinstall the app or sign in to request deletion. Email support@recipeclip.app from the address on your account (or tell us the email your account uses) with the subject line “Delete my account.” We’ll verify you’re the account owner and complete the deletion within 30 days of that confirmation.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the following from our database, immediately for the self-service path:

  • Your login credentials and account profile (email, display name, password/social sign-in link).
  • Every recipe you saved — titles, ingredients, instructions, and photo/step records — plus your recipe collections and bookmarks.
  • Your cooking log, cook-session notes, and meal plans.
  • Your nutrition goals, meal-diary entries, and pantry data.
  • Family plan membership: if you own a family plan, the plan and its membership records are removed; if you belong to someone else’s family plan, your membership in it is removed.
  • Referral records, API keys, and your lifecycle email log (which emails we sent you).
  • Your account activity history tied to your account.
  • Your active subscription — cancelled with Stripe before the account is deleted, so you stop being billed.

What is retained, and for how long

  • Billing records. Stripe, our payment processor, keeps your invoice and payment history to meet tax and accounting requirements — for up to 7 years — independently of your RecipeClip account. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs that data.
  • Aggregate AI usage costs. We keep a record of AI processing costs for financial reporting, but the link to your account is removed at deletion — the remaining rows can no longer be tied back to you.
  • Uploaded photos and video files. Deleting your account removes the database records that reference your uploaded recipe, cook, and video images, so they stop appearing anywhere in the product and are no longer accessible through your account. We are still closing a gap in our deletion process where the underlying image files in cloud storage are not yet purged in the same step; we do not treat this as acceptable and are fixing it. If you want confirmation that a specific uploaded file has been removed, contact support@recipeclip.app.

Timeline

Deleting your account from Settings deletes your data immediately. A deletion request sent by email is completed within 30 days of us verifying you’re the account owner. Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered.
