Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion (peeled and chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (peeled and minced)
  • 1 thumb-sized ginger (peeled and minced)
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1/2 cut water
  • 2 medium carrots (peeled and julienned)
  • 1 pound green beans (ends trimmed and cut thinly on a bias)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. 1

In a wok or wide skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook until softened.

  2. 2

Add ground pork and cook, breaking into pieces with the back of a spoon, until lightly browned. Drain excess oil as needed.

  3. 3

Season with soy sauce and oyster sauce.

  4. 4

Pour in water and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook until the pork is tender and the sauce is slightly reduced.

  5. 5

Increase heat to high. Add carrots and cook briefly, then add the green beans.

  6. 6

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. 7

Continue cooking for a few more minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
